Idea Submission Terms

Last updated: January 2025

1. Idea Submission Process

Submission Requirements

  • Clear, specific problem description (50-1000 characters)
  • Focused title (10-100 characters)
  • Maximum 5 relevant tags
  • Target specific user group and use case
  • Avoid generic "all-in-one" solutions

Community Validation

Ideas must receive 20+ community votes to be considered for review. This threshold ensures market demand and community interest.

2. Selection Criteria

Ideas that reach the vote threshold are evaluated based on:

  • Technical Feasibility: Can be built as MVP in 2-4 weeks
  • Market Potential: Clear subscription or usage-based revenue model
  • Scope Alignment: Focused solution, not complex platform
  • Legal Compliance: No intellectual property conflicts
  • Resource Availability: Development capacity and timeline fit

3. Development Timeline

Review Phase (1-2 weeks)

Ideas are evaluated against selection criteria. Authors may be contacted for clarification.

Development Phase (2-4 weeks)

Selected ideas enter development. Progress updates are shared on the status page.

Launch Phase (1 week)

Final testing, deployment, and initial marketing of the web application.

4. Revenue Sharing Model (Draft)

Revenue Share Percentage

Idea creators receive a percentage of net subscription revenue:

  • Standard Rate: 15-25% of net revenue (after operational costs)
  • High-Impact Ideas: Up to 35% for exceptional market performance
  • Collaborative Ideas: Shared percentage among multiple contributors

Payment Terms

  • Payments made quarterly (January, April, July, October)
  • Minimum payout threshold: $50
  • Revenue sharing begins after operational break-even
  • Detailed revenue reports provided with each payment

Revenue Calculation

Net revenue is calculated as:

Gross Revenue - (Hosting Costs + Payment Processing + Marketing Spend + Platform Fees) = Net Revenue

5. Intellectual Property Rights

Your Rights

  • You retain ownership of your original idea concept
  • You can discuss or share your idea elsewhere
  • You receive attribution as the original idea creator

AicoBuild Rights

  • Non-exclusive license to develop and commercialize the application
  • Ownership of the developed code, design, and implementation
  • Right to modify and enhance the application over time
  • Right to use the idea for marketing and promotional purposes

6. Duplicate and Similar Ideas

When multiple users submit similar ideas:

  • The earliest submission receives primary credit
  • Later submissions may be marked as duplicates and linked
  • Revenue sharing may be split among multiple contributors if ideas are substantially similar
  • Community voting helps determine the preferred version

7. Quality and Performance Standards

All developed applications must meet:

  • Modern web standards and accessibility guidelines
  • Mobile-responsive design
  • Acceptable performance and uptime metrics
  • Data privacy and security compliance
  • User experience best practices

8. Termination and Changes

Application Discontinuation

If an application is discontinued due to low usage or technical issues, revenue sharing ends but no refunds are required for past payments.

Terms Modification

These terms may be updated. Existing revenue-sharing agreements will be honored under the terms active when the application was launched.

9. Monthly Selection Target

Current Target: 2-4 ideas selected for development per month, subject to quality of submissions and development capacity.
